Why are Webmaster Forums a Better Choice for Improving SEO of Your Website?

When I was a beginner blogger I didn’t know about website traffic, SEO, or page rank etc. My only motivator was to post for blog ads. Google never gave my blogs any page ranks till I set out to improve SEO of my blogs.

In campaign for getting backlinks, the nofollow tag had become a big obstacle when selecting an option. Blog commenting is ruled out because of this. Search directories are ruled out for nofollow and also low quality of links and slow or no response for non-reciprocal links. Social bookmarking sites are ruled out as they started adding nofollow tags (which is now removed from some) and also made rules not to promote themselves. Then the only feasible thing left was to post on online forums and get signature backlinks. I had excluded article marketing directories for the amount of writing they need for each link.

This (forum posting) too was getting difficult and many online forums were nofollowing them or restricting the number of links in one signature. Within online forums I found lot of troubles with any online forum other than webmaster forums. You cannot use signature links till you post certain no. of posts and also stay active for certain time period. If you unintentionally experiment with links or even signature links you are considered a spammer and banned from the forums. That is a big slap on your face for a day’s effort in building backlinks.

However I have noticed that webmaster forums in particular are dofollow and even high ranked ones do not have these restrictions. May be because they are for webmasters only they allow signature links from early on without too many restrictions. The atmosphere at many webmaster forums that I had participated is very friendly and unmatched. Should I say as friendly as the Triond community here?

Most of the SEO that I did to my two blogs are through signature backlinks from webmaster forums. Other forum moderators were cruel. Same is the case with one webmaster forum (highly popular one) – DPF.

So the best choice for online SEO campaign is posting in webmaster forums selectively (not too popular not too small). Unlike what many webmasters tell you only two months time is enough to get some page rank if you did your job diligently.

Webmaster forums not only help through signature links but also help through the valuable suggestions and threads from fellow posters who are experienced webmasters and already have high page ranks to their websites they show up in their signatures. Their advice is helpful for both off-page SEO and on-page SEO.
