What’s Wrong with YouTube: Is It Closing Permanently?

This tackles some rumors about YouTube.

There are many times when people run into small problems on YouTube like no video or no sound, but then there are times when some problems exist that nag everyone who tries to get on the site. People start to wonder what’s wrong with YouTube. Every time this happens, many people spread rumors that YouTube is closing down permanently. In reality, that is not what happens at all. So what really happens when people have that one question in their head? What’s wrong with YouTube?

Nothing is wrong with it. Most of the time, that it happens it is just scheduled maintenance. Sometimes there will be messages that will tell you that but most people do not even see that small message. They think that something has happened to the YouTube website. There are also sometimes where the maintenance required will not allow the YouTube site to properly give the maintenance message, so that is another reason why some people panic when they can’t access the YouTube site. There are a lot of people who live on YouTube because they love watching the videos on YouTube all the time. These are the people who trigger the rumors. They are first ones to ask the question, “What’s wrong with YouTube?”

Another thing that could cause YouTube to stop working is a thunderstorm that overloads their servers and/or uninterruptable power supplies. UPS’s are not supposed to be interrupted but they are not invincible. Pretty much any disturbance to their servers can cause the site to be unavailable. Anything can happen when you are talking about computers. Wondering what’s wrong with YouTube shouldn’t be anything to panic about because the end of YouTube is like the end of the world. The YouTube site is probably going to be on the internet until then so you really won’t have to worry about what’s wrong with YouTube. The question that you should be asking is when the site will be back up. If you have your own site that you will understand. A website is never up 100% of the time. Even the most famous sites like Yahoo and MSN have their times that put them at 99% uptime. So if someone is spreading rumors about YouTube closing then they must be sadly mistaken. Even in the improbable event that the YouTube website is closed down at the beginning of the day, the site would be succeeded by a similar site by the end of the day.
