My picks for best Evil League of Evil video applications.

For those who don’t know, the Evil League of Evil is a group of sinister villains featured in the made for internet three part series Dr. Horrible’s Sing-a-long Blog. After the huge success of Dr. Horrible the creators opened up a contest asking fans to create video applications for villains seeking a place among the leagues membership. Below are the applicants I think deserve a place among the E.L.E.

#8 Super Vulnerable

I like her approach to the contest. She captures the nervousness many people feel at job interviews.

#7 Earl Grey

This guys got class. Too bad that’s his only power. Not a ton of humor in this one, but he’s got a nice tune and one hell of a set.

#6 Leach

Leach sucks, it’s what he does. Too bad the bank vault plan fell through for him though.

#5 Gigawatt

This guy was on to a great video until he started singing. It’s not that his song is bad, it’s just hard to hear. Good thing the beginning was good enough to make up for it.

#4 Totentanz

This guy has a great look, and his musical number isn’t half bad.

#3 Metal

I love this guys monologue. It sounds like something Jack Black would say, and who doesn’t love Jack Black?

#2 Multifarious

This one is probably the best concept, if a little lacking in the visual effects department. I mean, come on, this guys so evil he even pisses himself off. He doesn’t even need henchmen.

#1 DIE-ronic

Out of all the applications I saw this one by far had the best editing and song. It could have been better with some monologuing, but his song took up the full three minutes that the application videos were liited to, so it’s forgivable.

There are a lot of applications out there, I suspect more than anyone could watch in a reasonable amount of time. I don’t envy the judges of the contest their job of picking out the best of the best, they are going to be watching those videos for a very very long time.
