Ever heard of MuffinFilms? Well, now you have.
I. Love. Muffins. I love them to hell, to heaven, whatever. They ROCK.
So naturally, I’d search for tasty muffin recipes to improve my muffin-baking skills, right? Yeah, duh!
Earlier last evening, I was searching for a creamier, less dry, recipe for banana-nut muffins and blueberry muffins, as these two are the muffins I bake most often. My muffins always turned out kind of dry at the bottom but okay at the top, so I searched “creamy muffin recipes.” And since it was a good day, I clicked on “I’m Feeling Lucky” under the Google search thingy. So whaddya know, I get a recipe place. Then I get curious (as my muffins bake) if there are muffins I haven’t heard of yet. Like beef? (No, I’m kidding) So I typed in “muffin” in the search bar and clicked search. And about two down, I see a link that says “MuffinFilms,” a link I have not stumbled upon in maybe four or five years.
MuffinFilms.com is a site that holds a magical tin with 12 magical story-telling muffins. Every muffin has its own chilling tale. The first is about a girl who eats a muffin, but soon gets devoured by a bigger muffin. My favorites are an interactive short (it’s the eighth one) where there’s an old lady and you feed her muffins ’til she blows (yay!) and a story called “The Muffin Tree.” Muffinale is a type of “last song” you hear in a musical; it’s a really great way to convince non-muffin-lovers to try a muffin (but who doesn’t like muffins anyway?). Although I love them all, really, my favorite has to be number 11, called Bluebirds in Spring. It’s in French (and at the end, it says “Mauvais Translations” which means “bad translations” technically…) and it’s such a sad little muffin short, but it is most definitely adorable.
This site is a place I would spend a lazy afternoon, browsing the site and watching my favorites over and over. I recommend you give this amazing tin of muffins a taste.
