YouTube changed the web. What is its future?

You tube changed the world in 2005, a step align with technology and the increasing capacity of the internet. People were able to download fast, You tube let people stream videos, and made it their thing well.

I am seeing that you tube is stabilising and not attracting much more users. There is a community of new stars, the first generation of you tube celebrities have been achieved into you tube’s servers. With a few veteran celebrities remaining, a many have relocated themselves. Prehaps they just can’t compete in the main battleground anymore.

Myspace was huge, something that was first of its kind, i believe it can be compared to you tube, will it happen to you tube too? Everyone knows its the best, but since people want to be cool and original, they move on, so then along comes other sites like hi5, bebo, facebook all of which i would consider incomparable to Myspace, taking away Myspace thunder.

With a flood of new sites since you tube users have been spreading where they go, some sites offering unlimited video run times which you tube have restricted to 10 minutes, some offer specific video communities, others have weaker video policies and other reasons to take users from you tube.

Will Google’s purchase of you tube end up like their own google video, now not many can even remember. Google video was never successful. It just proves that the market to host videos is growing and you tube is strong in numbers, but it is also the only possible to lose members quickly because its not doing enough to attract users back.

Only time will tell if you tube becomes more successful or weakens, will it be one day credited for just being a entrepreneur site or it being the one that lead the way into the future.

I don’t really see a decline of new users on YouTube. The growth rate of the most subscribed channels has been constant over the last 2 years, and according to YouTube the amount of uploaded videos is also increasing.
The fading of many 1st generation celebrities is also related to the continuing user growth. Without regularly updated content you quickly loose ground to other channels in the top 100. Most channels that went down on the charts did so due to a lack of regular video posts.
