Ever wanted to download youtube videos but couldn’t find a site, program, or tutorial that actually works? Below are three easy ways to download youtube videos easily and for free.

1. Realplayer: This software has to be the best way to download and watch youtube videos. When you go on the Realplayer site and download/install the program, be sure to select, under the “Download & Recording list” that should pop up as you begin installation,  the “Enable browser download button”,  so that whenever you load a video on youtube, the plug-in option will appear on the video’s title bar. Simply click it and in minutes your youtube video will be downloading and ready for you to enjoy!

2. Voobys.com: Instead of going directly to this site, you can type it in where the ‘youtube’ goes in your video’s link. For example, here’s a youtube video link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYIFKYPm97s (If Major ruled the world). Simply substitute the “youtube” for “voobys“, so your url will now be:

http://www.voobys.com/watch?v=sYIFKYPm97s. Hit enter and a page like this should appear:

Hit download and your video will be saved in a .flv (flash) format.

3. Firefox addon Embedded Objects:

This is a very simple addon to use. To start, install the addon and restart firefox. Then, whenever you load up an embedded object on a webpage, (AKA youtube videos), a little green arrow will appear in the bottom right hand corner of your browser. Click it, and a little menu should appear with an embedded object that was found. Click the object and a download prompt screen should appear, but it will save your video in a .swf (Shockwave Flash) format, which won’t open up in some media players.

So, either go to Vixy.net, Keepvid.com, or SWF to WMV Converter to convert your video into a playable format.
