In my opinion, what improvements could YouTube make.
- Home page: The homepage is now customizable but the only problem is it stays customizable for ever, so it does not feel like a webpage, but an interactive mess with movable modules and ugly arrows to minimize or maximize modules.
- Country separation: Changing to language is better, because not all countries use you tube, and some countries are missing out on good content because they are tempted to change from global to their own country. Maybe if there were languages separated it would help the user find their language and what is popular from that community. And not trying to find something good over a dozen English communities.
- Browse Function & ads: through the most viewed videos and other filtered searches, there is now an ugly ad. Place ads on the side or along the top, not taking the place of 4 video spots.
- Certain Country only videos: If its for a certain country only, then don’t show it to us through searches and on your website, there’s no point for us to click them if all we are going to get is this video is not available for your country.
- Navigation & Simplicity: The site is now impossible to navigate through, there are way too many things. The original you tube 3 years ago was simple. That’s what i liked about it, now there is way too much going on and its cramming.
- Community: Groups was a fail, but perhaps there should be a proper forum. Groups is so fail that there is no simple link to get to the groups homepage, I’m not even sure if it exists anymore, but it was a good thing that it was removed.
- Video length: 10 Minutes is too short, even if your trying to avoid copyright, this isn’t the way to do it because people just cut videos up and upload them. I think giving the community longer video uploads will make alot of people more happy.
- Faviorate limit: Not sure if you know this, but you can only favourite 500 videos per account, you will need to delete some to add more. It should be as much as we want, it doesn’t take much memory to save urls or video number codes for accounts.
- Facebook: why is it when i uploaded videos it updated my facebook without me knowing or approving? I think there should be an option ASKING us if we would like to make such an update, just because both accounts are on the same e-mail address.
- Things on the video: The ad at the bottom of videos is damn annoying and the annotations are annoying too, they need to be removed!
