Why Does Everyone Have a Pokemon as Their Facebook Pic??

SO! Have you seen that a lot of people have got a picture of a Pokemon instead of a picture of them self on Facebook? I have at least! And SO many times. I’m getting really tired of it. I have around 400 friends and I and my two buddies were the only persons who didn’t know anything about this “event”. Around 200 of my 400 friends had a Facebook profile picture for a week or two. So I decided to find out why everyone had these pictures. Sounds easy enough right? “Ask your friend why!” right?

But whenever I asked my friends questions like: “Why do you have that stupid picachu on your profile picture?” They always answer “because it’s cool”, “why not?” or something like that. All the answers I got was answers that I couldn’t use. – And questions which didn’t answer my actual question. So I decided to search Facebook for answers and possible Pokémon events.

There (unfortunately) was a lot of groups encouraging you to use a Pokemon profile picture. I finally found an event named “Original Pokémon Profile Picture Week!” with the following info:

Time and date:
9/19/10 – 9/25/10

Place:
Facebook (surprise..)

Administrator(s):
Blake Baggott, Seth Bryant & Chris Hammond

Info: Just have a Pokemon on your profile picture on the 24th September 2010.

Apparently this is the only info given.
