On June 18th, a site called Global Associated News published a story about the death of Robert Van Winkle, aka Vanilla Ice, a rapper turned DIY expert. The site claims that in the early hours of June 18, Vanilla Ice was driving down US I-90 when he flipped his vehicle. ” Highway Safety Investigators have told reporters that Vanilla Ice lost control while driving a friend’s vehicle on Interstate 80 and rolled the vehicle several times killing him instantly.” On the left is the image of the car he was driving. The site also says “Vanilla Ice died in a single vehicle crash on Route 80 between Morristown and Roswell.” Notice something wrong with that statment? That means he could have died anywhere between New Jersey and New Mexico. Not only that but on his Twitter page, Vanilla Ice shot down those rumors quickly after they arose. “I don’t know who’s spreading this rumor about me dying in a car crash but – IM ALIVE ! I have like 30 texts, from mom family and friends” Afterwards he posted on Twitter the address of the fake article from Global Associated News.
