Using Twitter to Get Your Business Message Across

A short article on using the social networking platform twitter.com to get your message across.

When you work on the Internet or deal with customers all day, sometimes getting your message across to new customers is the last thing you want to do. But it is important, even more so in the current climate. I’m going to use one of my businesses as an example of how to use the Social Networking website Twitter.com to help you get your message across and gain new customers in the process.

One of my businesses has the message or tag line “Bringing tomorrows news today”. This instantly gives you the impression that the company is right up to date, and gets news items before anyone else. One of the ways my company achieves this is by using the social networking platforms available, especially Twitter.com. By using twitter, you can post a short message to all interested parties the moment an article becomes available.

In doing this, we ensure that our users are aware that we put the article on-line before anyone else did. This backs up our tag line of “Bringing tomorrows news today” by ensuring that our customers and potential customers see that we published the article before anyone else has. We also use Twitter.com to announce major changes to our systems, or services, again making sure that the consumer is always kept up to date.

This particular company website does this automatically for us, and most good website design and development firms (I own a design and development firm so feel free to get in touch!) will be able to do this for you. So when you are updating your site to include some more customer appraisals, why not post them on Twitter.com as well. You’ll be amazed at the response you’ll receive.
