Twitter is Just a Waste of Internet Space

Something is wrong with twitter. Here it is.

Twitter became an internet sensation almost overnight. Every day, millions of people log-on to update the world on their lives. A study looked at 2,000 tweets over a two-week period, and instead of finding that most users were passing on information of any value, 40% of users sent useless messages, like: “I’m eating a sandwich.”  Stupid, right?

Another 41% of tweets were purely conversational, using the “at” sign to respond to someone else’s tweet.

Nearly 10% of tweets were made as self promotion and spam.

The remaining tweets, roughly 9%, were deemed of “value” – with worthwhile news content.

Twitter launched in 2006, and allows users to share details about their lives in 140 characters or less.Actors such as Demi Moore and Kevin Spacey, politicians, journalists, musicians, mommy bloggers, small businesses, and more are on it. That just seems stupid. Actors and other famous people will use something as dumb as Twitter to show off their public appeal. Twitter was where the news of the Hudson River plane crash was first reported, and where the first pictures of the survivors were posted. That seems really insane. Twitter will just continue to be a place for people to spout-off their pointless babble.
