Twitter is growing rapidly, I heard it’s grown over 1700% just lately. It’s gaining on other social networking sites. Right now I am twittering on @ronorr or also known as www.twitter.com/ronorr.  It works like a live stream and text message like you may see on Facebook. It’s referred to like a micro-blog where you get only 140 characters to say what you need to say.  If you go to wefollow.com you can see a directory of the top followed on twitter. Also you can go to twiterholic.com and see who are the top followed, which include a couple famous celebrities.  

If you study how people talk on twitter you’ll quickly learn it’s like another language. Also popular programs like twhirl, tweetfeed, and tweetdeck are coming out to handle all of your tweets.  People are using logos on their site and favicon’s to try to get many people to follow them on twitter. Many people follow others, in hopes they will get people ot follow them, sometimes it’s an automatic thing. You can choose to unfollow someone at anytime, so it’s said to be a permission-based system.
