Understanding how Facebook photo albums is an important part of staying safe online and only sharing photos that you are comfortable sharing.
Millions of people use Facebook to stay in touch with friends and family members. While Facebook has its roots amongst college and high school students, more and more folks over the age of 25 are turning to Facebook as a way to keep up relationships and connect.
Photo albums are one of the most popular and widely used features of Facebook. Anyone can create a photo album to share just about any type of photo that they would like on Facebook. Plus, when you create a photo album on Facebook, you can take individuals within your photos so that people can visit their own profiles.
If you are new to Facebook, check out these 3 things that you may not know about Facebook photo albums:
Linking To a Profile
When you create an album on Facebook, you not only have the opportunity to upload your photos and write a caption for each one, but you can also list exactly who is in the photo.
After you upload all of your photos, a page will appear with all of your photos on it. From here, you can not only adjust the orientation of your photos, but you can create a caption and select the photo album cover.
Plus, when you click on a photo, a box will appear around the area that you clicked. From an adjoining box, you can then select the name of the person on which you clicked. A list of all of your Facebook friends will appear in this box and identifying them in the photo is literally as simple as click next to their names.
Limited Viewing
There are a variety of different options for privacy when it comes to deciding who will be able to view your Facebook photo albums. One of the most private settings is the limited profile setting.
You can set your limited profile options under the privacy tab at the top of your Facebook screen. In the privacy settings box, you can determine that only certain friends can see your photo albums.
In order to decide which friends can see your albums and which cannot, simply click “view limited profile” when accepting an invitation from a new friend. Thus, if the person can see only your limited profile, he or she would not be able to see your photo albums.
You Can Untag Your Photos
If a photo has been uploaded of you that you do not like, simply remove your tag from the photo. To do so, go to the page that displays a full image of the photo. Underneath the photo is a caption that contains your name. In order to remove your name (and link to your profile) simply click on the link “remove tag” next to your name.
Note: you can only remove tags for yourself – not for other people.
Facebook is a wonderful communication device that is used to enhance relationships and connect people across a variety of different mediums. Be sure to explore the Facebook photo album options and rules before you set up your first photo album. After all, you will have a much better time using the Facebook system if you know how it works!
