Facebook is the worst addiction out there, and for some, it is not Facebook itself, but the applications. Farmville, Mafia Wars, Pet Society, Frontierville, all of them have millions upon millions of active users per month. Why? Because people can’t help themselves.
My mom has a Facebook, and she discovered Bejeweled Blitz. I’ve never seen her get so excited about any one thing in my whole entire life. Every day she’s goes, “Hey, I got x points! Isn’t that crazy?” I’ve asked her, “Do you even like playing that game? All you are doing is just matching three shapes together.” She told me, “I don’t really like it; I just want to beat my friends.” What the hellll? Why would you play a game you don’t like, I don’t get it.
I think if you want to use Facebook, great. Facebook is awesome, but I don’t think you should get so into an application, that it stops Facebook from being a social network, and just a multiplayer game.
I can’t say that I’ve never played any of those games, but, I can say that I realized that they are a huge waste of point-and-click time. I mean, c’mon, I got up everyday in the morning, before I went to school, to harvest, plow, and replant a tomato field. WHAT FOR? It did not helped my life at all, it just made my mornings rushed.
I hope after you guys read this, you think about how much of a waste of times those applications are, and you decide to do something better, like reading a book.
