A worm has occupied the administrators of Twitter for quite some time. Because of some malicious code, the worm could spread itself rapidly all over the service, ensuring a lot of nuisance of course.

A cross-site scripting leak in Twitter allowed hackers to execute malicious code. The worm sent links to the website StalkDaily.com. The worm also infected a few profiles of Twitter users. Every visitor visiting those profiles would get infected too.

The administrators of Twitter announced that they have fixed the leak already. Passwords of a few accounts have been reset too. The account where it all starts has been banned.

The owner of website StalkDaily.com, the 17 year-old Mikeyy Mooney living in Brooklyn, disclaimed any involvement at first. Later, he confessed that he exploited the leak to warn the administrators of Twitter.

He also said that it was free advertisement for his own website. Mooney disclaims that he stole personal credentials of Twitter users. “I did this out of boredom, to be honest.” says Mikeyy Mooney.
