A description and explaination of why people go on facebook, myspace, twitter etc. so much and how people stay hooked on it.
Social networking is a new exponetialy growing phenomenon and im here to tell you about them. Social networking websites connect people with others who share similar interests and beliefs. People can have their create thier own profiles online and can share virtually any kind of media with anyone they wish.
The idea behind the social networks is that they operate on more than one level. Some are used to connect family some for friends and others for workers. These groups are limitless. There are many social networking sites that focus on business and allow users to post their career profile and look for jobs. There are other networking sites that are niche sites and cater to specific groups of people. The chances are that if there is someone out there that likes something you like then theres a social network site for it. These sites have become a very important role in determining how problems are solved, how people interact and how people achieve goals that they seek.
Previously, there were methods such as e-mail, texting, phoning, mail etc.. This has now all changed and gave way to a more open and personalized system, where it is possible to connect with each other visually and in some of the most easy multi-purpose systems created.
You would have heard of MySpace and Facebook, which are the top two social networking sites today. These top social networking sites make people feel connected and not alone and this is what makes everyone feel very comfortable about using these sites with ease.
The best part is that all these sites are extremely easy to join and this makes it all the more interesting to everyone, who have little patience in taking time to complete meaningless forms to register to something they are not certain about. They can add friends with the click of a button that says, “Add as friend.” Once this is done, they become members of the network and vice versa. Then they get to like the site and meet and add other people they know and they get hooked and spread the site aswell, and that is how the network expands.
In spite of there being concerns with several reports of sexual predators and safety issues this has led to many of these sites tightening their policies and security guidelines, social networking sites continue to rise in popularity because of the huge number of people with varied interests that can be reached.
