Yes, it has been found out that a dating site has stolen about 250,000 Facebook user’s personal information on Facebook, and then reproduced those information in their website, without the Facebook users’ knowledge.
It has been reported that websites like Lovely-faces.com, Alessandro Ludovic and Paolo Cirio. are using the personal information of Facebook users, including their names and photos, in their website and give the other members of their website to arrange a date with the facebook user, which can be you too.
Then the member is sent to the Facebook profile page of that person whose information is stolen.
This has really proved to be dangers, showing that social networking sites like Facebook are not safe. The creators of Facebook have claimed that Facebook is safe as their is an option to maintain privacy in Facebook and yes, we can evidently see that most users do not have much privacy in their Facebook profile, making anyone to access their profile page in Facebook
Facebook is indeed a perfect website to spend sometime online with friends and have a great time being there, but it is also a perfect place for such theft and illegal thing to happen, without the user even coming to know about it.
I tell you, that this thing is really so happening and in the near future, such theft may even grow up more and be more dangerous. So my suggestion to all the Facebook users, is not to quit Facebook, but to maintain some privacy in your Facebook profile page, so that it becomes secure from such theft.

good to know, getting friends on facebook I don’t know is kind of weird.
An eye opening post for all of us.
Great reminder. I do have strangers request for adds occasionally but to me, its great to make friends with others especially from other countries. However, not many of them really keep in touch or frequently contacting me for any purposes, so we remain strangers.

Interesting. The Internet is not the place to be giving out personal information. Your friends and family already know that stuff and it is no one’s business. Phone numbers, home addresses, emails and family names and associations should not be shared with just anyone.
@albert1jemi
my pleasure
@pam stushnoff
very true. that’s not needed. its just a risky formality people do at facebook
Omg that’s so scary for all users. can that happen to anyone?
I received the weirdest email the other day. Some one? thought I was extremey attractive. I don’t have a recent photo of myself on facebook and neither did this email come into the email i sign up for facebook. So they must steal from other email providers as well. This arrived into my mail, not in the spam.
@nixie
yes. it can happen just anyone. just anyone
@agriculi
