Why is Orkut falling behind in the race of web socializing?
With one in every six people on the internet being a facebook user; it seems orkut is losing its touch!
But, that doesn’t mean that google isn’t trying! With the introduction of themes and applications, its popularity may have increased a bit. The themes are closed-source and you can only choose from what you see and the applications aren’t the kind you go ga-ga over! Besides, it doesn’t let you express yourself with ‘html’ codes and styles like other socialising websites do. There have also been a few events, such as the MTV roadies event which fared fairly, drawing a considerable crowd. But, it just didn’t click!
Call it lack of popularity in the western world or just simply that it is just boring! The majority of the orkut population is Indian or Brazilian.
Till now, orkut has just been a step behind other competitors . Maybe it just needs to think out-of-the-box for once.
Battle lost, but not the war.

Orkut was boring since the begining…people didn’t have anything better to do so they kept gnawing on it.Now that everyone is aware of facebook which is apparently more interesting and productive, orkut is kind-of dashed off!
It’s a well-written article..Great Job=D
