MySpace vs. Facebook

Social Networks

Who I think will win.

MySpace and Facebook are the two most popular interacting social network in the world, and compete everyday.

Though I would like to get out my opinion on the ups and downs of each, and who win come out in the end.

Myspace

Ups:

Some Myspace ups would be the looks. It has a very comfortable look, and allows you to customize it to your likings to make yourself feel great about it. It is a very organized and has many options such as games, music, and etc. Bulletins also give it a great up!

Downs:

Myspace lacks in a few places, as does everything though. Unlike Facebook, Myspace is not much of an interacting network. Its mostly for posting, and games and music such as a Forum would be for. It does not give any great ways to communicate, besides posting in profiles of others.

Facebook

Ups:

Facebook is a GREAT place to meet new people and have conversations with people, whether its through profiles, or their chat system they have. It has a great music section as well. Starting new groups and communties and such-like is very easy as well and makes it a great place to use. Also, being able to chose which ads you like and do not like is great.

Downs:

One thing I have heard most people complain about is the looks and interface. You cannot customize it at all as far as I know, and its not too user-friendly.

Who Will Win?

Well it’s pretty much impossible at this time to determine who Will win in the end. But so far I think they will both stay for a VERY long time and keep the battle going, but I believe Facebook will keep ahead. As for it is more for the high school grades and up. Myspace is more for the young.

I like facebook better because it is simpler to use. And you can pick and choose your friends safely. Where as myspace is too busy. I like a simple interface. That is why I use my facebook more often than my Myspace.

  2. Carbon-ZombieForums Says:

Agreed. Facebook is where alot more of my friends are rather than facebook and no offence but there seems to be alot more people who…`dress the same way, act the same way` on Myspace. EG: Chavs, goths yatta yatta.

Which is why Facebook is what I choose :)

  3. Zombieforums sucks and zombies aren't real Says:

Neither are really worth the time of day. In the end you should really go out and make friends. Why waste your time on the internet when you can really go outside and have interpersonal relationships?

  4. Carbon is a loser and his site is terrible Says:

I think myspace is better for the younger generation as the poster pointed out, while facebook is more used by adults actually trying to have relationships. I actually was able to contact a job recruiter using facebook and found a pretty nice job that I have been working at for the past three years using it.

  5. A lot of hate Says:

Myspace seems to be better suited for those who wish to keep an online showcase of their life events for other to check up on while facebook does seem better for actively communicating with your friends.

Why all the hate on Carbon or his forum? He doesn’t bring up zombies and makes a decent point. Only an idiot would think somebody REALLY believed in zombies… I guess the last Resident Evil movie made you wet your pants… Too bad. Oh well, maybe you’ll get off the internet and finally make a friend, although, with your attitude, that will be quite an accomplishment!

  6. Facebook has more to offer Says:

I personally prefer facebook as a tool to keep in touch with friends. To the person that claims both are a waste of time and we should just go outside. Your statement is a clear demonstration of your age (lack of). As you’ll find out, when you become an adult, friends will move away, you’ll make new ones at places that aren’t the local playground, you might even have a few friends in other countries. With time differences, distances, phone bills, etc. its more convenient to keep in touch with a tool like facebook. As an adult, you also won’t have the freedom to go outside to “play” because you’ll have responsibilities like a job! Facebook is one of those things you can utilize while at lunch or on a break to keep up with old friends. Maybe you’ll figure this out one day and stop trying to sound “kewl” on the internet by dissing the very medium which you are using.
