The growing popularity of point and click games.
Myspace users are adding friends at a pace never before seen on any social network, After another poular social network gathered success installing a game section and sucking users to their screen with popular games, Myspace followed suit, adding user apps and bringing “friend invites” to a whole new level. Other websites are making a name by connecting game users for popular applications. Popular applications such as “Mobsters”, “Vampires” and “Heroes” bring users together in a whole new way, typically to dominate other game users in point and click battle of wits.
When asked about the popularity of these games, most users like the idea of these point and click games, they offer a sense of teamwork in a game that doesnt require you to sit in front of a screen for hours on end to get somewhere in the game. Achievements are based on adding friends, a genius move on the part of Myspace, and games also offer player a chance to buy “upgrades”. these are not necesary to gain game status, but give an advantage for those who buy into upgrade points.
While Myspace stays in the running as the most popular social networking site, the competition itself seems to be what expands the networks. Whatever the next “big thing” to be added to a social site will be, expect that it will spread like wildfire and make the sites even larger than life. The popularity of Game applications will continue as applications range from the exotic to the mundane, even offering simple Sports team “fansite” Apps that are basically an informative site displaying ones team allegiance to other users. One thing is for sure, no matter how you look at it, these “game apps” are growing social networks at increible rates.

Well written.
It’s funny how a point and click game can be set up to encourage the social network to become larger and more popular.

I agree the developers of these apps are highly intligent people. I have enjoyed playing for a while now. i have made a great new friend in the friend process LOL
One theory i do have on the apps is if you read alot of the comments from other players on mobsters people are starting to take these games WAY TO SERISOUS do you think this is a potential problem or back fire and do you think someone might preform a horrifying act as a result of these games and people not being able to seperate reality and games???

Yes I agree there are a few people on those apps that take it way to seriously, but for the most part I enjoy them. I have made several new friends that I dont know how I ever lived without.
