My First Few Bucks From Twitter

Updating you guys how I earned my first few bucks from twitter.

Hey guys. A few days back, I wrote this article telling everyone a brand new way of monetizing your twitter accounts. That time I haven’t tried it for myself and I was still experimenting, so I thought I owe it to you guys to tell the whole story when there comes a story to tell.

If we hear about some new way about earning money online or earning  money from twitter, we don’t want exaggerated advertisements, we want facts. And that’s what I’m about to give you. My first week trying to earn money from twitter.

Let me tell you first that it’s been a fun ride. Like any other experiment with a new way to earn online, there were ups and downs and discouragements and motivations. When I started on this website, my twitter following was only like 400. So it’s not much. I’ve decided it wouldn’t make a difference, or at all, and I almost gave up on that site. Instead I tried out several other sites.

When I finally got a keen look among those in comparison, I figured my first site was the best pick. First, they pay once a week (every Fridays) and pay via paypal at a threshold of only $2 bucks. If you are a US citizen, when you reach another threshold of $600 you will have to provide them an SSS or EIN number, but if you’re not a US citizen, there’s no need to bother at all. No way in hell I’ve reached $600 in my first week, so how do I know? I personally emailed their admin on thier contact link. Most websites don’t give a damn, but you know what, this website replied to me within one hour. Now isn’t that great for user support?

So we’re down to the earnings part. How much did I earn? Let’s clear up that this is advertising. You create “sponsored likes” and post it with your tweets. When qualified people click on it (called clickthrough, same logic as Adsense) you are paid. I only created a sponsored like when my twitter following hit over 1000. I posted an ad for at least three days, and I earned $2.60 from my clickthroughs. I got paid last Friday.

Now I have about 1500 follower (still increasing) and several campaign ads to choose from.

Yeah, I know what you think: I’m bragging about two bucks. I only have 1000 followers guys, imagine if I have 10,000 followers. Most people on twitter have over 100,000 followers. It’s not going to be like boom-hit-shazam-rama-daw-nie I’ll have to work on it to entertain my current followers and get new followers.

But the one good this is, I’m earning money from doing leisure stuff like Tweeting, which for me is great.

This company is called myLikes, I’ve written an article about it here. Or, you can sign up for an account here.

Peace out! Good luck! Leave a comment.

yes, from what I hear, $1000/month is tough to crack, but since I’ve got nothing else to do, it doesn’t hurt to try =)

nice article, I actually signed up for mylikes the other day but was unable to get any sponsors since I was following too many people compared to followers. I’m working on fixing that though and then I’ll be racking in the cash.
