“Digg” and “Mixx” are two social bookmarking websites. They are one of most favorite websites for users to promote their articles.
But,
Which is better?
This question is important for everyone. This is because:
For Newcomers:- First impression is Last impression
While for Experienced People: Time is Money
I mean to say that newcomer will only continue to write on triond only if he feels that he is getting the desired output of his/her hard work. While, for experienced people it is important to optimize their money making process. Therefore, it is important to know the best website to promote the articles.
Therefore, wasting no more time of my readers, I write down some of the most important similarities and dissimilarities of both “Digg” and “Mixx”.
Similarities:
1) You can post your articles, photos and videos.
2) You can rate the post of others and vice versa.
3) You can make friends.
4) You can share your post with your friends.
Dissimilarities:
1) “Digg” is less strict as compared to “Mixx”. “Mixx” can ban your account more frequently (I was also banned once.) but “Digg” will not ban for excessive promoting of your article. In short, tolerance limit of “Digg” is more than “Mixx”.
2) In “Digg”, you can only find out who have liked your post. However, in “Mixx” you can even find out who did not like your post.
3) In “Digg”, you can separately see how many of your friends liked your post. However, no such facility is available in “Mixx”.
4) It is easier to make friends in “Digg” as compared to “Mixx”. Since, “Digg” allow you to directly add other people as friends from your friend’s profile. While in case of “Mixx”, you have to go to individual person profile to add him/her as your friend.
5) “Digg” automatically gives you the total number of your friends and fans. While in case “Mixx”, you have to count them manually.
6) It is easier to find people with similar interests in “Digg” as compared to “Mixx”. Since, “Digg” has option to look for people, which have similar interests like you and arrange them in descending order. Hence, the chance that your friends will read and like your post increases.
7) In “Digg”, you can send your article to only 200 of your friends at a time while in case of “Mixx” you have no such restriction.
In “Mixx”, you get several awards and medals according to your performance while no such thing exists in “Digg”. This increase your popularity in “Mixx” and hence more traffic to your profile and your post.
9) In “Mixx”, you can create and join communities and groups where you will get the topic specific traffic. Hence, it increases the traffic to your site.
Therefore, these are some of the key similarities and differences, which I feel, exists between the two.
However, I would suggest, “Digg” is more suitable for newcomers while for more experienced people “Mixx” is a better option.

i totally disagree with you that mixx is for experienced users, from what perspective are you saying that?
Digg owns/pwns every single social site in every aspect, you have probably never got frontpage that is why.
Mixx is waste of time.
