Facebook.com is a growing network. It introduces people that may already know each other, or people that you are just basically starting to know. Facebook is a place where you can share comments, pictures and even favourite videos with your friends. Facebook also offer applications, these are programmes that you can share with friends. These applications can come in many forms and there is a lot of them to search through. You may from time to time receive “requests” to join applications. With these “requests”, they give a short explanation on who has sent them and what they are about. An added feature is that, only your friends that you have added or accepted into your friends list can see your profile.

The following tips can help towards creating a wonerful place to interact and share yourself.

1. Put up a nice picture on your profile – when building your profile, put a really nice picture of yourself on there. This way, as soon as your friends open your profile, they will see a picture of you and not just the standard picture Facebook puts up.
2. Write a little bit about yourself – underneath your profile picture you will find a little box. This box enables you to write a little something about yourself, your family or something you like. If you do not feel like writing about yourself, then add a phrase, verse or saying that you really like.
3. Listing hobbies and interests – on your main profile page you will find a tab at the top. This tab should say info. Click on it. You can edit the information there. Listing your hobbies and interests can be a way of letting others know what you like to do, play, listen to and read. Your online friends will love to find this information out so you can chat together.
4. Write a comment – on the homepage you will find a space that you can type in. Use this to show what you are doing, how you’re feeling or anything you would like to share. This can be updated whenever you like.
5. Join a group – you will find a small icon that says groups. You can search through these groups by typing in the search bar. Have a look through the groups and see what you think before joining up. All you have to is click on the “join group” button and away you go. Just remember for some groups you may have to wait for acceptance, as a few groups are closed. This just means that people need to be approved by the creator.
6. Upload photos – uploading photos into albums is one of the best ways to show off your family. This can include anything that you want. For example, you may have photos from holiday, or the family. Upload them and your friends can comment on them.
