How to use the Digg.com network to reach out to a wider audience.

Digg.com is a great Internet site for people who like to read articles on many subjects. If you like a particular article, you can simply Digg it. This simple process increases the popularity of the article. Furthermore it has the power to drive thousands of Diggers on the network site to enjoy a great read. If someone really likes a visual or written subject they have the opportunity to share it with all their friends. This can have a huge Knock on effect. In short, for a writer who likes to publish content on the Internet. Digg.com will help you reach a wider audience.
When you first sign up your initial impression will seem a bit overwhelming. It doesn’t look that simple to use. As a member of the site I will hopefully guide you through some steps. Armed with this new learned knowledge, you will have the potential to drive traffic to web pages of your choice.
Step 1
Sign up to Digg.com. Use the home page to create an account. This should be simple and straightforward. Make your profile sound interesting and add some links to your web page. Add a picture and spread some personality into it.
Step 2
Congratulations! You are now a new member of the site. The next step is to add as many friends as possible. This seems quite tricky at first. But you need friends in order to make this system work. The more friends you have, the bigger audience awaits your web pages.
How to add friends.
- Click on the Home button. (Located at the top left in the green bar of your profile page).
- Many popular articles are on this page. Tap on a title in the “top in all topics section”.
- In the right hand top corner, there should be a picture of the person who submitted that article
- Now, there is a little +friend in green under his picture. Click on this. It should turn red.
- Once you have done this. Tap on the persons name, to the right of profile picture.
- Once you are in this persons profile you can scroll down to their friends section
- Now click on view all friends
- Add as many friends as the system will let you. Digg will stop you from adding too many friends at once. So take your time and look for big diggers. You can see this in there stats section.
Step 3
Once you have added a good number of friends. Its time to submit an article or a web page you like. Many web pages have a link to Digg.com this should be within the article located at the “share” section.
Step 4
Once you have submitted your work on Digg. Click on the submission title box. This is located in your profile section on the right hand side. Under Stats.
Now click on your submission title. Under the blue title there should be a green arrow pointing to “share”. Click on this. This will open a box, which gives you the option to share your work with all your friends. “Shout to all”. You can also leave a message and ask people to Digg for you and Share.
Step 5
Next to the green arrow that points to “share” you will notice a yellow star. This function allows you to add an article to your favourite list. This also gives your new friends the opportunity to check out your work when they check out your new profile.
Digg.com is a very educational site. Thousands of pages have the capacity to give you an idea as to what people like to read.
I hope this helps with driving traffic to your awaiting articles.
