I Am Torn. Do I Stay or Do I Go

I started a big ordeal three days ago, because I saw a friend of mines on here, unhappy with her earnings.  Anyone who has read my articles knows that I made the decision just to use this site for fun, rather than worry about the numbers, but now I know where I stand when it comes to this site and its owners; it makes me feel insignificant and small.  After three days of steaming I just can’t be mad anymore.  The only thing that’s left is disappointment.  I imagined if I could fire up a bunch of people that the owners would at least listen to the complaints, but they already know they are in the wrong, they simply don’t care.  Unless someone is rich enough to hire a lawyer, and pursue legal action Triond is content with letting us hoot and holler.  Why should they care, they have every hard working writer’s money lining their pockets to cushion the blow.  It wouldn’t bother me so much if they were upfront about like Facebook.  If they had just said we are providing you with this site, but we are keeping the advertising dollars I could live with that, but they promised to share the revenues.  Whatever the case, I’m left at a crossroads.  Do I stay of do I go?  I really don’t know what to do.  All I know is I’m tired of yelling into deaf ears.  I feel like I have done more to damage the community I love than I have gotten any results.  I’ll close out by saying, “Triond you are in the wrong.  Give these people there due.”

  1. I’ve been on here for years and still live with the fact we will never get rich here. I just like Triond.

Stick it out… you have lots of friends on here… me being one of them, we would all miss you, and with enough time things might change you never know

It’s hard to let go. There are many great people here. I have moved on to RedGage (not because of money necessarily but because I like the whole system better) but I sill plan on visiting people here as well. Do what your heart tells you to do! All the best with whatever decision you make!

After making 8 cents on 272 views yesterday I kind of see it as a pointess venture. Not sure what I’m doing either.

  5. If a person is thinking money, Triond is not for you! They pay very little. This has nothing to do with the caliber of your writing or the number of stories you write during the course of a day. If however, you like writing, write and enjoy the privilege! For me, it is mainly a hobby. Frankly speaking, my expectations of monetary compensation are zilch.

  6. Well, when you find the site that will give us the revenue we deserve, let me know. I’ll follow.

  7. I think it is just rewarding enough to have meet some wonderful people on Triond. I think you should stay. You don’t have to work hard, just enjoy the community and putting out those challenges we love. :)

  8. Dragoonk says:

Then why not make a site just for the fun of publishing? why do they gove the illusion that you can actually make money and disapoint you in the end? Something doesn’t feel right!

  9. Triond doesn’t pay well, that’s all there is to it.

my thoughts are with you dear friends…if you do decide to go remember to tell me goodbye. We gave it our best shot! sigh!!! by the way I think I fared the worst with 1cent for 300 plus views!! And today I think it’s going to be a 100 more views on the same article but not a cent more in my coffers! am going to stick around here for a while longer…

You should never allow anyone to make you feel insignificant and small. I think you are magnificent in trying to rally Triond members together to enter their work into a contest and presenting everyone with challenges.

Triond is going to be Triond, long after all of have moved on. Yep, I need to take a break, but, when I resolve some things, I just might be back at it. If only Triond would communicate better with us. But, that doesn’t keep us from continuing to encourage each other.

The bottom line – do what’s best for you.

I agree and invite you to read my article in response to this one to get some incontrovertible indirect evidence of shortcharging by triond!

  15. Some of us Trionders are on other sites as well. I’ve mentioned a few to you. Meet you there. You are still free to visit here regularly.

I hope Triond will keep going, but I wonder if they are having any success? I plan to stay as long as they do, I would like to make a little income but I love writing here. I doubt if any other site would publish my sister stories and that’s what I enjoy writing so much. I also write on another site.

You haven’t done damage to our community. Even though our hands are tied, you brought the community closer together. I don’t know how many private messages I have received about this awful dilemma. And I know a lot more people a lot better because of it.
And if you were to leave, Philly, I for one would be so very sad. You have done wonders for our sense of community and I love ya for it.
    Please stay…

You did well. Triond needs to clarify the information at the following link: zoominfo.com/#!search/profile/company?companyId=247873635&targetid=profile

  19. Plzzzzzzz don’t go.carry on with this as well

I stay at triond because of the community of online friends that I have established here. If I go to other sites, I have to start from scratch again to establish a new community. But, I agree with you that there is little money that could be earn here.

please suggest a good place to go/??

Google Adsense disabled my account right when I was reaching my $100.00 amount needed to receive the first check. It seems that they are doing this in order to protect their advertisers, now the advertisers are also making revenue from our articles. No wonder I have tons and tons of views on my articles and only made $1.80. I have deleted most of my articles and left only a few. I am gone this time for good. I’ve been writing on this site for two years.

  23. You should have fallback sites. see the gathering. or allvoices. both, you can stay with triond.

  24. dazzlejazz says:

I know exactly what you mean Philly. And their only answer is that our payments reflect theirs.
I’ve bunked off for the last week or so and my views have plummeted to zilch. Unless I flog away all day at this site I’m earning nothing. The friends I’ve made are wonderful and I’ll drop by to visit every week and perhaps submit an article or two but it ain’t what it used to be.
For anyone interested I can now be found on RedGage. See ya there!

  25. iva75cpb says:

Truly said, but obviously most of us are still here for the sake of friendship and fun. If it was only about the money, we would die in starvation.

  26. rgreenfield says:

just for the fun of it… stay.

  27. Fleur D says:

Yeah, there aren’t many sites that I have seen out there to pay much. I went to Redgage a year ago and only made $2. This is my hobby so I am not expecting much. But I do try other sites to see if I could from time to time.

  28. jennyreeve says:

I agree with you, it is a difficult decision. we certainly do not get the pay we deserve for our hard work. I do love to write, but I feel we all like a good incentive to write more.
Let me know if you find a decent site that rewards us well.

  29. GoldenAsh says:

    Philly Dreamer, please stay.
