Are you addicted to Facebook’s Farm Town game? These easy strategies and tips can help you climb the levels quickly. You could reach Level 25 in less than one week!
When you reach the next level in Farm Town, your options expand. You can buy a wider variety of seeds, trees, animals, flowers, and buildings. Once you reach Level 15, you can start buying more land so that you can plant more crops. So, naturally, you want to level up quickly. Here’s how.
Plant mostly short-term crops.
These crops aren’t as lucrative, but you can get more experience. For planting a crop, you get 2 experience points per square. For plowing (or having someone plow for you), you get 1 experience point per square. You get 3 points per square for each crop cycle (plow, plant, & harvest). If you plant a 3-day crop, you will only get 3 points per square over those 3 days. That’s only 1 point per square per day.
But if you plant a 2-hour crop, then you can have five or six crop cycles per day – for a total of 18 experiences points per square, per day. Much faster.
Never do your own work.
Always hire people to harvest your crops; you can sell them for more money. Always hire people to plow your fields; it’s cheaper than plowing them yourself. Additionally, hiring a neighbor is cheaper than hiring a random person from the marketplace. So make a lot of neighbors, and hire them whenever possible.
This way, you can save more money, which you can use for the next step . . .
Save up and buy buildings.
Buying buildings gives you a ton of experience points. Smaller items like animals, fences, scarecrows, and barbeques will give you a few points, but if you buy a silo or house or barn, that one purchase can take you almost all the way to the next level.
Work for other people.
By harvesting for other people, you earn money (which you can use to buy buildings). By plowing for other people, you earn a small amount of money but also, more importantly, you gain 1 experience point per square.
Marketplace tips:
Don’t spam. It’s fine to say, “I’m looking for work!” It’s not fine to say it 27 times in a row. People will get annoyed and won’t hire you.
Use real, full, properly spelled words. You don’t have to be a grammatical nazi, but you don’t want people to spend time deciphering what on earth you’re saying. They’ll just ignore you and hire someone who is easier to understand. Plus, “Please” is polite and winsome. “PLLLLZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz” is awkward and abrasive.
Don’t yell. “Hire me, please!” sounds bright and cheerful, whereas “HIRE ME PLEASE!!!” sounds desperate and rude.
Use names. If someone offers work, say, “I would love to plow, Jill / Rainbow Bunny / Mr. Awesome Farmer!” If you just say, “Me,” they won’t know you’re talking to them. Plus, if a farmer sees his own name, he will notice.
Try trading. Offer to trade your job for another job, especially if you have a lot of crops or especially lucrative crops. This doesn’t always work, but it can significantly increase your money, and it benefits you both, so it’s worth a shot. This works especially well with neighbors.
Play a lot.
This one’s kind of a no-brainer, but play frequently, especially if you’re planting short-term crops. You don’t need to quit your job or wake up in the middle of the night, but you do need to check your crops often enough that they don’t go to waste.
Good luck!

Another tip: If you can’t see anyone in the marketplace, go visit a neighbor, then come back. For some reason, that often works when refreshing Farm Town and even Facebook doesn’t work.

People frown on trades…do not do it. The best way to get work is to say hello and converse in the room. Don’t keep begging for work.

Well… people who trade don’t frown on trading, which is really all that matters if you’re trading. You definitely shouldn’t beg for a trade – just offer once. Also, there’s nothing wrong with trading with neighbors/friends – Farm Town is purposefully constructed to foster a sense of community, and working together with friends certainly complements that.
