How to Get More Followers on Tumblr

1.  Visit the Tumblr Spotlight and click on whichever topic appeals to you most. View blogs on the topic you have picked, these blogs are the blogs most valuable to Tumblr, therefore gaining the most hits under their topic. One thing you will notice is that every blog sticks strictly to a particular topic. For example, I run a landscape blog, so I only post landscape photography. This also means you have tailored your blog to a particular group of potential followers, and have tailored yourself to potentially be in the spotlight in the future.

2. Reblog, like, message, follow. Be as interactive as possible. It’s the best way to promote your blog to other Tumblr users who will view your blog and be a potential follower. Be lovely to people and build friendships with people and really join the community – not only are people more likely to promote you but you will meet some amazing people that way. 

3. Create posts. People will look at the source of the post if they particularly like it, and will click to find more posts like that. Again, more hits = more followers. 

4. Use websites such as Tumblrplug.com to promote your Tumblr to other users and also find more blogs similar to yours. This is also a good way of finding content for your blog. Also use other social networking websites such as Facebook and Twitter to promote it. 

5. Post regularly, and have a nice, clean theme so your posts are well displayed on your blog.
