How to Add Clickable Links to Your Triond Profile

Make clickable links on your Triond profile. Find out how.

If you have ever tried putting links in your Triond profile you would have realized that the links are not clickable. There is a way to make them clickable but the catch is that for some reason some links will work and others will not. I do not know whether Triond has set some restrictions or whether some links are too long to work there in the small box that we are given. Of the links I made clickable I got my Twitter link, my Digg link, my Hubpages link as well as my Triond referral link to work.

You will notice that I put four links there that are written in a red font. Those are the clickable links.

Now how do you go about doing that? Follow these steps:

(1)   Go to the dashboard page and click on “Edit About Me” on the far right next to your picture. It is just above your badges (if you have them or have them displayed) and your referral link.

(2)   When the box opens up you will see the code I entered to write “Add me on Hubpages.”

The code you write in that box depends on what you want displayed as a clickable link. Let us take that step by step.

As I said perhaps Triond has certain restrictions because some links work fine with this method while others unexplainably do not work. (Note that Facebook has such restrictions and links working here would not work on Facebook in the “Notes” section). You should, however, get the same type of links I got to work to work fine. I tried shortening article links with a link shortener program thinking that long links were breaking due to the small box that we have to work with but for some reason the same method did not yield the same results.

In case you are wondering why you should use clickable links here are a few reasons:

Include links from other sites

(1)   Using the icons Triond supplies you with in the “Find Me On” segment of your Portfolio page limits you to links from Facebook, Stumbleupon, Digg, Twitter and Blogger.

(2)   With this clickable link formula you can include links to other places like Hubpages!

More visibility of links

(3)   You can have links on the left of your page strategically placed next to your picture profile where no one can miss it. Once you use this method on the left along with Triond’s icons on the right your links have maximum visibility. By the way, I made my links bold, but that is another article.

It caters for readers who are not as tech savvy

(4)   Not every reader will be tech savvy enough to know to copy and paste your link into their browser and click the “Go” arrow. It is so much easier for them to just click your link.

So go ahead and try out making your clickable links. At the time of writing there are only about two or three Trionders who have clickable links on their profile so get ahead of the curve while you can!

Thank you for sharing this information. What I like about you, is that you listen and take notes during our private conversations. I am so happy that you do, because the information that you provided in this article will help me improve my own profile page in the future and I can now make the link to your profile page which was recently added at the bottom of my own profile page a clickable link as opposed to the copy and paste to browser version which it shows currently.

    Thank you again brother Shelpeare.

Excellent. Thanks for sharing this information. I also found that the Google Chrome browser doesn’t always work well with Triond. I’m not sure why.
