Five Things Not To Do in Facebook

Therefore, I have come up with this list of 5 things, which says Five Things You Should Not Do on Facebook and here goes the list:

1. Never Go for the Default Privacy Setting
It is very important that you maintain some privacy at Facebook and never go for the default setting in the Privacy setting of the Facebook account. If your account is in the default setting, anyone can check out your profile, your personal information and your updates, so that anyone can easily see it. Therefore, be careful. First thing you got to do is to open your privacy setting and select Friends Only, doing which you can let your personal information and updates to be seen by your Facebook friends only.

2. Never Select being Found by Search Engines
It is a different thing that your friends are getting connected to you by your facebook profile, but letting the whole world, being able to access you is dangerous. Getting yourself listed in search engine can allow anyone, to just check google or any search engine and search you, and get to know about you. So better be safe in facebook and do not list yourself in search engines for your Facebook account.

3. Do not Put your address and Phone number in Facebook
If you want your friends to know where you’re living and to share your phone number, you can simply send them as a Facebook message, but sharing it in your Facebook profile is very dangerous. So if you wanna be safe, do no put your phone number and address at your Facebook profile.

4. Do not Put Your Date of Birth on Facebook
If you ever lost your password or have any security problems with an account you have, the first thing they are going to ask you is your date of birth. Therefore, letting your date of birth go public in your Facebook is not a good idea and so do not put your date of birth in your Facebook profile and if you do, simply remove it.

5. Never Share where you are going
Yoi maybe going for a nice trip or a vacation with your friends or family, but that doesn’t mean you share that in your facebook status. There are many thieves and dangerous people who may look up to you, so better not share them. So be safe than sorry.

Very very impoerant advice. So many people are using Facebook apps that tell people where they are 24/7. Surely all this does is allow people to track you, which can lead to so many personal saftey issues.

  27. R.B. Parsley says:

    Mr. Arrogant,
Posting personal information is one risk I wouldn’t take on Face Book or any other social site, due to all the crazies, and the scammers that are out their. I’m not that trusting myself. The only thing I would use Face Book for is to put some of my stories and poems on. But as for putting personal information on, that would be a definite no. Nobody needs to know that kind of information. Its just too dangerous to put this information on a social site. Besides, why would anyone have to know this information for anyway? Great article!!! So glad you wrote it.
