Although Farm Ville looks cleaner than Farm Town it is also in jeopardy of copyright infringement. Zynga has a history with copyright issues. The Mob Wars developers sued Zynga in February for an almost exact duplicate of the game – and this game could also be on a slippery slope.
Having played Farmville and Farm town, I can remark that they are very similar however apart from the odd feature. Farm town has an area where you call meet and interact. Farmville is also improving on Farm town by fixing many of the reported bugs in it – It is hard to say Farmville is without its bugs, it actually has a great many. Zynga also has history in copying itself. You can play Dragon Wars, Mafia Wars or Wizard school. They are all the same – Just with different “Job” ideas.
Farm Ville – Being a Face book App – relies on the “Invite your friends” approach; however they have done it on a different angle. To invite friends you can send them animals and trees (Which can be harvested for money) and they become a neighbor. As a neighbor you can visit their farm. Help out on it to give you some extra experience and money and walk around. You can also get gifts back to increase your farms output. In addition – the more neighbors the more benefits you can get. For instance, a certain number of neighbors are needed to upgrade your land space.
Recently Zynga has started a new method on this game. “Farm Cash” which is a Real world money trading angle to buy things from the market that is very good for your farm.
Farmville reportedly is doing very well with over 9.5million monthly users and most of which returning every day. The daily return rate is 50% +! This is quite astounding for a New Face book application.
This is not surprising considering the abundance of the “Farmville” advert you see around Face book and MySpace.
This game seems to be the one up from Farm town – however if the developers sue it could be stopped dead. We do hope with application will continue as it has a lot of potential and is rather good fun. R.I.P to Farm town.

I agree!! It would be awesome to be able to help your neighbors more. It would also be nice to be able to earn the cash even if you have “sell” your coins for it.

I just wish farmville buildings would work, I’m suppossed to have 6 and none have showed up!

I am now at the point of giving up farmville (I am level 33 so have spent a lot of my time to achieve this) because there are very long periods of time when I cannot get onto the site and when I can the program is so painfully slow that I cant stay on.
