Facebook or Factbook?

Facebook should really be called FACTbook due to the private and intimate information that gets published on the site. Safety and security against predators seems to be non-existent.

Facebook should really change it’s name to Factbook. What’s happen to all the adverts and debates, not too long along, all bearing the messages about keeping safe on chat and networking sites?

I can remember watching documentaries, celebrity fronted adverts, news issues, debate programmes etc all on the danger about not revealing your personal data because predators, stalkers, and much worse can choose their victims with ease.

Not just personal data is entered on this site, but intimate data, lifestyle data, pictures including children, people freely giving out facts such as “we both away for the weekend so no one will be at home” a good advert for burglars, don’t you think?

There doesn’t appear to be any censorship either, some of the language used is totally unacceptable and yet it printed for everyone to read. Some pictures would be classed as pornographic, and still are shown. Some comments could be construed as dam right racist, and yet they get published.

I’m all for networking sites, find lost friends and family, equally make new friends. But some private and personal data should not be on the net where the world can enter your life, weather you want them too or not.
