Facebook Alternatives

I have been been reading quite a few posts lately advising that the best way to increase views for triond contributors is by making use of the links available to social sites like facebook and twitter, which I use every day myself and which I can attest do have a positive effect on viewing figures, at least they have for me, but the drawback I found with these is that there are no earnings to be made from participating on facebook, though twitter does offer some such  opportunities.

Recently, through contact with the speakman, another triond contributor, I wasmade aware of a new social site where you actually DO get money for taking part in discussions, blogs, posting things, and other peripheral activities, and being a pretty new site, at just over 1,000 members, it is far more accessible and amenable than the somewhat  too vast facebook.

 I find it excellent for debate, and the chat room there is pretty lively, so you might well want to try it yourself, because you can post links there to all your writing efforts, increasing potential viewership and finding more like-minded people, as there is also a triond club within the site. Another relatively new site that I found and joined is mylot, which is another social networking site that pays you for participation in the things that go on there. Though, like matesgate the rewards are commensurate with the amount of time you spend there, so the more the better, the fact is tha this is another place to post links to your work, and earn money doing it. I find this site also very friendly and good fun, with lots of writing related debate and advice, as well as other web earnings opportunities.

I personally like this site much more than facebook, though in terms of potential viewership  it is far smaller in membership terms, though I am certain it will get much bigger.

Fact is that self-promotion is the only way to get more views, and doing it through social networking increases the chances a great deal. Another point that sometimes gets overlooked is that google adsense is NOT the only advertising agent to run on your pages for extra income, as chikita can run alongside it with no conflict.

Though you may think that the adverts do little for you, in reality, for me at least, they make me as much, and sometimes more than views do in a day, depending on how many clicks there were.
