If you have no clue what I’m talking about here, you must have been living with your head burrowed in the sands. With its overwhelmingly huge popularity, it’s a wonder there are still people who don’t have Friendster accounts. Except of course for those who chose to sign up with Multiply, Facebook, MySpace or Tagged instead.

1. Touch Base

   Most people have friends and relatives in other places. With a Friendster account, people can be updated with everything that is going on with the lives of loved ones in far off cities, countries even. As long as the member regularly blogs and upload new photos and videos, Friendster is infinitely better than phone calls and e-mails.

   Want to trace long lost classmates? Get in touch with old neighbors who moved away? Contact brief acquaintances who made a mark in your life? Friendster can make it happen. Find and connect schoolmates and high school/ college friends by adding a school. Search by names for those missing persons.

3. Meet New Friends

   See someone you like on a friend’s friends list? Send him/her a smile or a message. Better yet, make a friend request and get to know the person behind that gorgeous pic. In the same way, if someone you don’t know want to add you as a friend, accept the request. Your new friend might just be a rare gem.

4. Show Off Pictures

   This is the hands down favorite of all those with Friendster accounts. (admit it guys!) With its multiple albums and more than a hundred pictures uploading capacity, this is a very popular feature. Images of frolicking in the snow, sun bathing in the South of France, the latest addition to the family, a new house, name it, it’s there. Anything that would make others turn green with envy, upload it. Harharhar!

5. Post Bulletins

   Have an announcement to make? Want to thank people for consoling with you in your grief? Acknowledge wedding or birthday gifts? Post it! As long as the people you want to inform or thank are on Friendster, you’ll get through.

6. Ogle Profiles of Celebrities

   Famous people from show business, sports, television personalities, and even politics are on Friendster. More often than not, their accounts are not private so everybody can access their profiles. Go ahead, search for your favorite PBA basketball player or your bet on the current edition of Pinoy Big Brother and get the latest on your faves.

7. Advertise For Free

   A garage sale on schedule? New boutique or shop opening? Got a benefit concert your org will sponsor? Go ahead, use Friendster. You can make it your shout out or post a bulletin on the event… free of charge.

8. Find True Love

   Ah, this is the ultimate reason why you should join Friendster. Pretty, young singletons may actually meet their soul mates (ahem!) thru this site. Hey, isn’t that why you check out who viewed your profile every single day? Hoping for someone cute and interesting who checked you out? Nyahahaha!
