Welcome to the world of Twittering. Today, Barbara Walters who admittedly loves her Blackberry declared herself a Twitter “virgin.” Well, Ms. Walters, as millions watched, logged on to her new twitter account and launched her twitter following. By the show’s end, Barbara had 2,975 followers. As the show progressed and the ladies of The View (Sherri Shepherd, Joy Behar, Elizabeth Hasselbeck, and Barbara Walters) tried to persuade “Whoopi” to become a Twitter customer, Joy proudly admitted “I’m a Twitter tramp. Joy reported that on Sunday, yesterday, she had 10,000 twitter followers for that one day.
Needless to say, Miss Whoopi wants no part of this sweeping phenomena. As a matter of fact, Whoopi revealed someone had opened or allegedly tried to open a Twitter account in her name and asked the twitter guru to eliminate or close that account.
For those of you out there who like Ms. Walters, and myself who are Twitter virgins, let’s not knock it till we try it. Sorry, Ms. Walters is no longer a twitter virgin.
