Twitter the Social Network, first caught my attention when I was watching The Ellen Show and Ellen said that M.C. Hammer had contacted her through her Twitter account.

I was curious so I started up my first Twitter account with the first two people that I signed up for being Ellen (@TheEllenShow ) and M.C. Hammer (@MCHammer ) and I have been addicted to Twitter ever since.

Everyday I talk about how much I love Twitter and all the benefits of Twitter so it finally occurred to me that I should make a list of why people not only myself have reasons to love Twitter.

So here is my list of 12 Reasons to Love Twitter:

Reason #1

Twitter brings people of all ages together.

Reason #2

You can watch season finales while following along with the star of the show and the fans in real time on Twitter.

Reason #3

Twitter can potentially save lives – for example the responses to the suicidal woman that tweeted Demi Moore.

Reason #4

Bridges gaps and promotes love, understanding and connection i.e. Speidi (Spencer and Heidi Pratt), Miley Cyrus & Perez Hilton have all become friends over time by Twittering or Tweeting each other on Twitter.

Reason #5

Allows people their own difference of opinion in a safe and free environment.

Reason #6

Twitter is a social support system for people who are having a bad day or who are feeling lonely or down.

Reason #7

Can lift you up and provide you will a good laugh with the funniest people and unlimited inspirational quotes.

Reason #8

You can find out about anything that you need to know from how Twitter works to recommendations of services.

Reason #9

Gives world recognition to charities/causes and creates platforms to form powerful connections for charities and/or causes such as what Aston Kutcher (@aplusk) does for charities.

Reason #10

Provides unlimited social networking potential for everyone.

Reason #11

Twitter can provide real-time communication during emergencies like what happened in this week’s California Quake. People were using Twitter to connect to love ones and friends to tell them that they were okay. Other people quickly organized and provided useful information and resources regarding the Quake.

Reason #12

You get to witness breaking and historic world events together like Astronaut Mike Massimino (@Astro_Mike ) Twittering or Tweeting from Space!

Bonus Reason #1

You can keep in touch with love ones and friends who are away in real-time.

Bonus Reason #2

You can non invasive way follow your favorite stars, celebrities and people because they are voluntarily sharing their lives with you and the world.

Bonus Reason #3

Not only may people be interested in what you have to offer they may want to follow you and be interested in you for you and that can really make your day!
