A list of 10 things that should or should not be done while twittering.

Seeing as Twitter is becoming more and more popular, and hoping that it will outgrow the annoying thing that is Facebook, I put together some things that you should avoid when out there in the Twitter world. So, let us begin the count:

1. Keep your tweets somewhat relevant to your audience. You don’t have to be CNN but try not to bore people out of their minds and God forbid unfollow your ass.

2. Try to be funny. Humour goes a long way, as we all know it.

3. Try and interact with your Twitter followers and people you follow. Use the “Reply” button. It is there for a reason. Make yourself heard. It’s all about interaction after all.

4. Don’t flood your tweets with links. Try to evaluate and choose the most impactful ones. The ones that might get you a reply. That is something good to get, isn’t it? That is why #3 is important.

5. Do not over-tweet. That can be annoying as hell. Unless you’re Stephen Fry or Demi Moore. But I guess you’re not.

6. Use Twitpic and show people your true self.

7. Try tweeting on a regular basis. Make for yourself a Twitter schedule. Do not let days go by without tweeting or  people may forget about you.

8. Try to be honest in your tweets. Do not tell people you’ve just slept with Angelina Jolie when all you do is hang around your mother’s house telling people you slept with celebrities.

8. Do not use swear words as it is frowned upon in this micro-society. Maybe you could spice it up a little bit but do not overdo it.

9. Do not use it a chat like mirc or IM. Use reply only once or twice then switch to DM. It is annoying for everybody else that is following you.

10. Make people happy with the fact that they are following you. Come up with new, interesting and fun stuff everyday but do not be obsessed bu this. If it happens it’s all good. If not, not.

This article and title are very confusing. The title says one thing but the actual article says another. For example,

“Try to be funny. Humour goes a long way, as we all know it.”

Should I NOT try to be funny or should I try to be funny? If you’re going to make a list of what I shouldn’t do on Twitter, atleast keep the same do/don’t thing down the list. Don’t mix “be funny” and “don’t be careless” when both shouldn’t be done on Twitter. Just confusing.

You guys are starting to degrade in my RSS feed…
