A comparison between three of the most common social bookmarking website is provided. Find out for yourself where you can maximize the number of free visitors.

Which is the best social book-marking website?

In my previous article,” Mixx vs Digg” I have compared two commonly used social book-marking websites. In this article, I will go a step further. I will discuss about another book-marking website called as Propeller.

This is a good website where you can promote your articles as well can read the latest and good articles. Like other social book-marking websites, here also you can post articles, rate the post of others and vice versa, make friends and groups.

However, making friends in this website is not as easy as compared to Digg (another social book-marking website). In addition, sharing your post to the groups and friends is restricted to only twenty-five persons or groups at a time. This makes it a less attractive website for promoting your articles.

Determination of post popularity is complex. It takes into consideration the number of comments, likes and drops a particular article has got within twenty-four hours.

However, the biggest attraction of this website is that it keeps the track of the total number of visitors to your profile, groups and posts. This makes it easy to predict the traffic for the particular post.

It also displays the names of most active members and most recent groups. This provides a boost to your profile and community.

Overall, this is a good book-marking website to promote your content.

Among the three social book-marking website namely Digg, Mixx and Propeller, I will rank them as follows:

1) Digg

2) Propeller

3) Mixx

I will do it like this because Digg is very user friendly and more lenient. While Mixx is better than Propeller but the biggest drawback is that it is stricter than Propeller. This makes Mixx difficult to handle.

Interesting article. I like Digg very much (because, like you say: it’s user friendly) – but the most views I get from Mixx. (On the HubPages there is a tool that allowes you to see where your readers come from. There should be something like that here on Triond too!)

Hey thanks for this post. I just started an account with Digg and Mixx. Stumble upon is nice and I have friends there. So what about SU? You didn’t mentioned it?

Thank you all for ur kind response.

I’m sorry that i could not mention about Stumble Upon. I will try to mention about that also in my future articles. Actually right now I’m facing some problem in opening my SU account and posting my articles. So, can’t judge it.

My comment would be that Web promotion is all about getting links and traffic to sites. You can build one million quality sites but with no proper web promotion, you will never see money coming in. Most web promotion tactics have one thing in common – trying to rank high in search engines results. In the old fashion days, I loved to submit my sites to hundreds of link directories. It worked like magic until the search engines changed their algorithms.
