A review of yPixx, a newly established social bookmarking website.
Website Review: yPixx
A New Social Bookmarking Website with a Twist
Those who have been publishing online are quite familiar with bookmarking websites, as publishing platforms recommend these sites to their writers to promote their pieces. Triond articles can easily be linked to popular book marking sites such as Digg, Delicious, StumbleUpon, etc.
But just recently, I discovered yPixx.com., a newly established bookmarking site, which may not be familiar to you yet.
What is yPixx
yPixx is a social bookmarking site with a twist. The name yPixx stands for Your Philippine Mix, as this site primarily covers anything and everything about the Philippines, the Filipinos and their numerous interests.
As Filipinos are scattered all over the world and are inherently interested in virtually every topic under the sun, most of the people have acquired a global perspective. Therefore, yPixx is also open to non-Filipinos and accepts posts that are relevant and interesting in a global context as well.
How yPixx works
Like all social bookmarking websites, yPixx works through and around its registered users’ activities, which include:
Discovering web content and linking it to yPixx
Of course, nothing can stop you from posting your own article as long as you think it is acceptable to the site.
Browsing through the upcoming section to see the recently submitted content and viewing those that interest you
Voting for or burying an article
Commenting on an article and participating in discussions
Distinct Features of yPixx
Aside from the features commonly associated with social bookmarking sites, yPixx has distinct qualities such as:
A bookmarking website for Filipinos
yPixx offers Filipinos worldwide a unique platform for online interaction. It also provides them an opportunity to showcase their country, its people, and its culture.
A bookmarking website for Non-Filipinos too
Non-Filipinos can also register and submit any web content they find worth sharing, making yPixx not only a source of information regarding the Philippines, but also of topics with global relevance.
A simple layout that’s easy to navigate
yPixx pages come in a simple layout that is quite easy to navigate even for those who are not yet very familiar with social bookmarking. Users may find it easy to link an article to this site, to browse through upcoming posts, to vote and to comment on an article.
Downsides of yPixx
The following may be considered as downsides of this bookmarking website though:
The inherent nature of yPixx
The fact that yPixx was created primarily to showcase a specific country, the Philippines, may deter some non-Filipinos from registering, as they would tend to assume initially that this site is only for Filipinos.
The number of registered users
yPixx is still in its early stages, so the number of its registered users is quite limited at the moment. This fact may make some people think twice before registering too. So if you want a bookmarking website with thousands of members worldwide to share your content with, you may not find the current number of users of yPixx appealing.

This is quite interesting information to have, because with a site like this, it can be quite useful for anyone wanting to or planning to visit the Philippines. Having so many people writing about or submitting articles or sites about the country, it gives visitors and residents an idea of what is going on in this country.
Good article and well written.
God Bless,

Wonderful read. I loved the Phillipines – it was an incredible journey – the most underated destination rivalling Thailand. You have to go into the countryside and dine with the locals to win a true feeling for the land. Thank-you, I will consider joining this Web site . j
