A short description of how much time StumbleUpon has used up…
Three years ago was the first time I installed StumbleUpon on my computer. At this time I have accumulated about 39,000 stumbles (if you do not know how to find this number go to StumbleVideo and it tells you in the bottom right corner of the video box)…lets see how much time I have used up. Assume I have taken 20 seconds per stumble, some were much more, some were much less, seems like a good average to me.
39,000 Stumble x 20 seconds per Stumble = 780,000 seconds
780,000 seconds / 3600 seconds per hour = 216.66 hours
216.66 hours / 24 hours per day = 9.03 days
This number is ridiculous. 9 days of just sitting on this computer clicking the word stumble. Usually I am just sititng here not doing my homework, other times I am bored out of my skull. Building my computer took somewhere in the area of three hours, HOURS not days. Learning to play “Stairway to Heaven” took about seven hours of playing, including the solo. Building a golf cannon with a group of friends took about two days of labor. Writing all my college essays took somewhere in the area of five days, I had quite a few to do. I am sure there are more things I have done but I do not want to bore your with the details. All of these little accomplishments have paled in comparison to the amount of time I have donated to StumbleUpon. I would not be surprised that my highschool GPA would have been well above what it is now if I had not installed StumbleUpon. Maybe I have gone over the top on my stumble addiction, maybe I am unique. However, it is really hard to open Firefox and see that big shiny button staring back at you saying “Click me
”.

Stumble can be addictive though. I’ve stumbled so much sometimes that i feel disconnected from the world. The massive amount of information is drug like to intellectual minds.

I’ve been using Stumble to find new crafts projects and ideas. Also anything that helps me save money.
