Another platform like Digg that is somewhat being kept in the dark.
Design moo is a Digg and Stumbleupon that meets technology only articles. What a pleasure to run across this one as a web content provider, who just so happens to love writing about technology. Design moo is in beta stages, and is very simple to use.
They have a variety of topics to choose from such as graphic design, icons, wordpress, drupal, and then the topic of applications. Under the category of general would be anything else that is not listed at the top of the page. Social media is also discussed on this site, and any type of internet related topics. They still do get approved, I only had one removed about the Mystery Google so far.
You can submit articles or just vote on the ones that others have submitted. To vote you click on the arrow that is on the cow skin icon located beside each article.
You receive your own profile where your votes are viewed by others. A profile picture can be included along with your twitter, and personal website. Your comments you have left for others can also be viewed. The favorite feature reminded me of Digg. Like Digg, you become a member of the community, and they give you a ranking by how much you do on the site. A karma feature is also on the profile page. This goes up with everything you do such as submitting articles, voting or commenting on others who submit.
On the front of the page, right at the bottom, you can also view who is currently online at the same time you are. New users and joiners are listed in this area, so you can see who else has joined the community. A list of the top users is featured in this area, with their picture beside their names.
Design Moo tools are available such as button for your blog. The bookmarklet is also available for your browser to simply click on the button and submit the article.
They also have a moo blog, which you can view on the site, or you can place it into your rss on your browser.
I strongly suggest this site if you are interested in any form of technology to read and view. I have never heard of this site, yet I am on so many technological sites such as tech crunch and many others. I was quite surprised to locate something that is similar to Digg but not being discussed much on the technological front.
Hope that changes for you Design Moo, you have a thumbs up from me! May your beta turn into something long lasting!
