Services

Where does Microsoft really shines online? Sharing services.

Microsoft is working hard on Windows Live to make the service as good ans as user friendly as they can.

They even have some services that both Google and Yahoo do not have and cannot have.

For example, Live has a great service called the Mesh. With Mesh you can sync the information between many computers you have so you do not have to take your laptop with you every where. For example, imagine you have a desktop in your office and another desktop in your home. With Mesh you can sync the files between them and then you can just take them from a computer to another easily. Just copy and past it on the Mesh folder and then the Mesh will automatically do the job by itself!

Microsoft Live folders is a service that let’s you to create folders online and then save your files inside those folders. The advantages are many, you can have all your files online and then download them to any computer you want. The disadvantage is that the service is somewhat slow…

Microsoft offers you up to 25 GB of storage to put all your files online. This is a huge service compared with the competition. Not to mention this service is absolutely free, all you need is to upload the files to the net. The disadvantage is that you cannot install software for this, because if it was possible to have software, the service would have to shut down because the advertisements could not pay the bandwidth.

Another service I love is the Messenger shared folders, you just need to drag some files to your messenger folder and then you will share them with all your friends too.
