Why I Hate Yahoo Messenger

I recently found I hate Yahoo. Here’s why.

Yahoo, we all know the name, some people love it, some people hate it, others are indecisive. One thing I do know though, we have all had our share of problems with yahoo. How yahoo became so popular is easy to see. People want to meet new people, yahoo allows that with little more than a mouse click. Not to mention free E-mail and up to date news coverage.

Everything the internet user could want, at your fingertips, one of the many wonders of modern technology. So what is my complaint about yahoo? Yahoo malfunctions way too easily, and that to me makes all it’s quirky little conveniences of no value if the most important aspects(like messenger) aren’t even functioning properly.

Yahoo has competition in the forms of MSN, IMVU,and even MySpaceIM. With that said yahoo may start losing users if they can’t get their stuff together. The alternatives seem endless, every time I turn around I am being introduced to something on the internet that I never knew was there before. So getting rid of yahoo may be a smart idea if you are having issues with it.

Go with one of the other, competitor IM services, If yahoo loses enough users maybe they’ll wake up and realize their users will not tolerate incompetent service. Admittedly this article could be taken as boycotting yahoo, but that is not my motive altogether for writing it.

My true motive is that Yahoo needs to realize their customers want an IM service that doesn’t just claim to be the best, but is the best.

Yachoo! is damn-near as bad as M$ now – anyone allowed Yachoo! Messenger to update lately…? In the unfortunate event you do, out of nowhere there’s a Y! search bar added to your browser page, a Startup Entry embedded in your registry, another goddamn shortcut on your desktop, three new Yachoo!-related folders in the Programs menu, and let’s not forget the “Update Service” sneakily placed in the confines of Yachoo’s app folder and into the Global Startup Service entries. Yahoo needs to back off and tone it down… I’m doing my best to spread the word like wildfire: Yahoo! is playing off of M$ lead and doing any-and-everything it can to control and document a persons activities/experience on the web. If you insist on using the Y! Messenger make sure that you check the Task Manager often… It’s absurd what this “company” has turned into and I hope that others will see the cruel-intent going on here. There’s a class-action-suit brewing already against Yahoo and their infringement on end-users; make sure to look into this and get on the list!!!

Cor, you can comment all you want, except I do request one thing, that you watch your language. Please keep it in check there are far better ways to express ones disdain for yahoo than with profanity,it’s offensive not only to my eyes but no doubt to my readers. Further profane comments will be deleted if they appear on ANY of my pages, just letting you know

Okay, I am at the point where that tiny little yahoo face sends me into a frenzy! I was loyal to yahoo and this is what I get arrrrgh. It is almost impossible to sign on these days, and the fact that it uses so much ram space is a complete new issue.

So I too, hate Yahoo Messenger!!!!

Thank you for this place to say that I hate Yahoo so much I could spit fire. Try moderating a Yahoo group. You want to talk about malfunctions? I don’t think there has been one day without one problem or another. I also updated Yahoo Messenger and am now messed up completely. I had one ID set to open IE and another set to open FF if I click on the mail icon to open my email. This allowed me to moderate my Yahoo group at the same time that I’m doing personal things on IE. Well folks, I won’t be doing that anymore!

(by the way, you can select custom install/download and deselect all those extras)
