How to save money by buying on ebay instead of buying retail.

You need a new lawnmower?  A new sofa?  How about a new television set?  Don’t head out to the retail stores, head to your computer.  That’s right!  You can research what you want and then do a search on ebay for your item and get it at an extreme discount.

What I usually like to do is find exactly the thing I need first.  For instance, I have always used the Garmin gps for my vehicle.  I had one stolen out of my car recently.  Instead of replacing it with a brand new one, I went to ebay and did a search for the exact model that I previously owned.  I found a refurbished one for $85.00.  I had paid over $800 when I bought the original one that I bought.

Another thing that I found was a Shaklee Airsource 3000.  They run $699.00 new, but I found several on ebay for under $100 each.  I checked the reputations of the sellers and the one that had the best rep was the one I bid on.  A few days later I had one enroute to my home for under $100 (they even shipped it to me for free.)

What if you are in a hurry to get your item?  Just click on the “Items ending first” icon and you can look at auctions that are about to expire.

What if you want a book that you have been dying to read?  Give E-bay a shot.  Same with videotapes and dvds.  Think of it as a big garage sale covering the whole country that you can access an inventory on-line.  If you aren’t sure of the exact model you want, you can search for just a general topic and you will get lots of suggestions.  For example, I needed a stenograph machine for my court reporting business.  It had to be computerized, but I didn’t know which kind to get.  I found one at ebay for under $500.  A new machine would have cost me close to $4,500.

Now, go out there and shop!!!!!
