A Virtual Doorman is a person who is miles away and monitors a building with cameras and has benefits that a actual doorman does not.
Since 2001, a company name Virtual Doorman made it debut. It offers the same features as a doorman but with benefits. A Virtual Doorman is a person who is in a building not too far away monitors the apartment. They have cameras in the front door and in the elevator as well as the hallways.
The Virtual Doorman offers many benefits such as access to the building when you lost your key, the Virtual Doorman sees if you belong to the apartment. It also can help notify you off deliveries by text message, email or phone. The Virtual Doorman also helps decrease vandalism and theft by capturing it on video and sending it to the police.
One problem with the Virtual Doorman is privacy. People might not like it when they have eyes watching them from all over. For example: It overhears some credit card information in the elevator and the people don’t feel like it’s necessary.
The Virtual Doorman is home to apartments in the city area. The Virtual Doorman also have received Starbuck gift cards and boxed chocolates from their tenants. When it comes down to it, a virtual doorman provides more protection then a real doorman as it can lock down the apartment if intruders are spotted.

DatAintGood,
There’s no need to worry, the Virtual Doorman(tm) system from Virtual Service does not monitor audio throughout the building. Although the cameras are recording the video footage, they are only being monitored when a delivery or guest is being visually escorted through the building. This means that tenants are actually afforded more privacy than a doorman building, because when they enter and exit the building, they don’t pass by someone standing in the lobby taking note of their business.
You are correct in mentioning that often our happy customers/building residents send gifts for our operators. In New York City, where most of our sites are located, it’s customary to tip a physical doorman around the holiday season. With a Virtual Doorman, tenants have the option of tipping based on superior service. They don’t feel obligated to tip as they would with a regular doorman because the tenants don’t have to walk past them every day on their way in to or out of the building.
Thanks for your post. It is very good and covers the main aspects of our system!
