iPhone 4S : is It Worth Buying?

Iphone 4s recently came out in the market and people have already bought hundreds of handsets. I know alot of people are still debating on whether to buy it or not because it’s not that different to the iphone 4 and the price is obviously making you feel a little hesitent. 

 The main difference between between the 4 and 4s is that the 4s has a better processor which is upto 7 times faster than the Iphone 4 processor. (This feature is only going to be useful to enhance multi-tasking and playing hardcore games on your phone). Also the camera is now 8 Mega Pixels and has better HD video recording features. The camera quality is absolutely amazing but still, if it’s only the camera you want, then its not worth spending so much for the phone. Also the most popular feature happens to be ‘Siri’ which is a voice recognition thingy that you can talk to. You can say stuff to it and it will interpret what you need and give a couple of options. Like if you wanted to go out and eat something but don’t know where to go, you can say “Siri I’m hungry” and then siri would be reply with a list of restaurants fairly close to you. You can also talk to it and tell it to send someone a text and what the text should say etc. Some people love this feature where as some don’t really care. So that’s something to think about.  

 If you ask me, the Iphone 4S is a good idea if you want to upgrade from Iphone 3Gs or something. But if you have an iphone 4, then it’s not worth it (Unless you really want one or more of the features mentioned above). I also think since Iphone 5 wont be coming out anytime soon (Atleast a year of wait I would say), you should definately buy the iphone 4s and use it for a while. Though I would recommend you seriously consider not upgrading if you already have a fairly good device like the iphone 4. 

 So at the end of the day it’s your budget, your requirement and your old device which should determine if you should get the 4S. Another thing is if you have a service provider who’s willing to give you a cheap upgrade with some kind of a plan, then it’s definately worth it.
