With a point, point click, you can change your photographs without having to know the ins and outs of Photoshop. Whether you aim is to enhance, change the mood or simply be silly then get ready to upload your photos and have some fun.

Photofunia

all screens captured by authorIf you want to be a wanted wizard from Harry Potter then you should head for this site forthwith. As well as escaping from Azkaban there are many other options to be had. If you want to be the Mona Lisa, then so be it. If you want to see Paris Hilton holding up your picture then that too is possible. You can be on the front of Vogue, the dollar bill, or even appear as a tattoo on the torso of David Beckham. Then you can save the picture and amaze your friends and family (or possibly sicken them, who can say) on a variety of social media websites such as Facebook and Myspace. You don’t of course have to restrict the photos to yourself. These could easily be incorporated in to birthday cards and so on.
-
Dumpr
Another variation on the theme is Dumpr which allows you to do pretty much the same thing as Photofunia. Select the photo that you wish to use and you could very quickly become the main feature of a Rubik’s Cube. The advantage of this site is that you can interface very quickly with your own social media site of choice and your finished photo effects can be up there on your profile very very quickly. There are some interesting choices here – you can make your pics in to jigsaws, put photos inside photos and generally play around until you realize it’s time for bed.
-
Funphotobox
Funphotobox has the slant more towards the media and its stars, so if you want your picture beamed in to the home of POTUS, then you may want to consider this one to play around with. Heath Ledger’s Joker can also be incorporated in to your images, as can Will Smith and James Bond. Once you have your image the way you want it, you can save it to your PC and then upload it to wherever you want in the world. Be afraid, be very afraid.
-
Photvisi
Although you can use photovisi to upload a collage of pictures on to your social networking sites it is really meant to create brand new wallpapers for your PC. So, instead of having just one picture of your loved ones, whether they are people or pets on your desktop, why not mix and match a get something that will make all your friends ask you how you did it. Are you some sort of PowerPoint wizard? What they don’t know won’t hurt them! As there is a choice of between one and thirty photos that you can upload to make a single picture then this will obviously take more time than some of the other sites already mentioned here but the results can be most worthwhile! You may also have to take some additional time to crop the pictures to be in the collage; otherwise you will end up with people without heads!
-
Pixisnap
If photomosaics are more your bag then pixisnap may well be what you are looking for. You select the photo first of all – that is the one from which you wish to make the mosaic. Then you can upload up to twenty pictures from your own PC which will then be merged to make the final photomosaic. Again this does take more time and effort than some of the other sites featured here, but can make a satisfying afternoon’s activities.
-
Fotocrib
Here you can make your favorite photos in to puzzles. The best setting, as shown here, is about 60 x 60, but you can make the squares much smaller than that if you like. As well as some random effects, however, this site is very useful if you want to convert the images to other formats. It even allows you to encrypt your photos so only you can see them. No idea why you might want to do that… well, cough, yes.
-
Befunky
Befunky does exactly what it says on the packet. It takes your pictures from average and quite plain to something that could only be described as funky! You have to admit it; the sunburst effect here is quite startling. If you don’t like that – it may be a little loud for your tastes, then you can stencil your pictures, make them in to charcoal sketches or even make them in to cartoons (excellent if you are fed up with avatars that look nothing like you!). You can even create a Warhol print from your pictures. Andytastic! Unless of course you hate the results.
-
Loonapix
OK, so it does depend on getting it absolutely right for it to be convincing, but Loonapix is great if you want to make yourself or a friend (or, gulp, even a pet) the star of a major movie. It does take patience (which I didn’t have) to get it absolutely spot on, but again this site could be useful for making your own cards. It also has a variety of supremely uncool picture frames in which you can pop yourself and a pretty good photo trimmer effect as well.
-
Picnik

Picnik takes a long time to load as it is, after all, a proper and full online application. While it loads, though, it does tell you stuff like it is buttering sandwiches or flying kites which can make the wait a little less tedious. You can upgrade to get the extra super duper features that are available, but you can also get remarkably good effects just by using the standard features. You can even change the weather in a picture – so now it is snowing!
-
piZap
If you just want to have some very silly fun, then piZap (get it?) will give you hours of mindless fun – the results of which you can upload to your social networking sites. Much, much better than tagging your friends on to a picture that does not contain them at all, surely? You can be as cruel or as kind as you like on this site, but it does err on to the side of cruelty. Beware, if you do upload your pics from this your friends may well take revenge.

Cool list! You should also check MaskIt!. It’s a fun Facebook app to create photos by inserting your (or others’) face into pictures. Since it uses face recognition, it’s very easy. You can also create your own effect from any picture!
