This article is dedicated only to web workers that depend on the internet to make a living. It will cover a little bit of internet security, backups and browser extensions, the best browser and of course many business styles.
Security: You should always run your browser from an encrypted Pen Drive. You can never know when your computer will be attacked by a virus, trojan or spyware. An encrypted pen will ensure that every byte you see on your browser is encrypted in the RAM and that no other external progran gas malicious access to it. True Crypt is the best free program to do this. You should have AVG, Zone Alarm and Spy bot installed on the computer to monitor programs and files. Avoid to use the Pen in computers you do not trust even if you just use the mouse. Portable Firefox from the Pen Drive will leave no traces in the computer hard drive so it’s definitely the choice for you.
Now on the business. There are many ways to make a living online. You can write articles, you can sell items on eBay, you can make money with Adsense (which in the end means writing articles your making other types of content such as image or videos or flash games), you can make money with eGold either by trading it directly for a profit or by investing it in HYIP which are risky investments and are not guaranteed to make a profit but very profitable indeed, something like 5% a day. Some other ways to make money include selling the products directly either using your own website traffic or by buying it from Google via Adwords or from Microsoft or any other search engine or Advertising network. The competition here is top stiff so try many programs before you make a definite decision. It’s easy to get lost while trying all the cool features each one has so stick to your major goals and learn the program as fast as you can. Some great programs to make money are the CPA advertising networks. Here you only pay when you make a sale so you have nothing to lose. The disadvantage is that competition is good and tough, you need to be approved and only the best converting sites will show on the top to publishers you you really need to know what you are doing if you want to make a sale. This needs you to have your own product of course and the maintenance costs are almost zero. Another business model is to be a product developer. You make as many products as you can and then you sell them in as many places as you can such as Clickbank, your own website, Click2Sell, Ebay, Amazon, other shops and so forth. This is the hardest business (based on my experiences) but the one that makes you the most money once you master the technique. Also the one with the worst kind of competition, very smart and sharks with a lot of know-how.
The biggest business of all online is selling other people’s products. You can sell almost anything online, from pharmacy products, to cars, to real estate to hotels, basically every site that has the Referral or the Affiliate button is a site where you can make money from, as long as you know how to send the traffic that converts into sales, which is not that easy. Traffic is everything that has people. Social networks, news websites, common websites, Youtube, Myspace, Facebook, everything that has traffic can be used to these affiliate sites and thus generating sales. For example, you register with an Affiliate website that pays you every time your affiliate link or ID converts. A good site for this is Clickbank. You just need to place those links on sites or pages you own which have lots of visitors, more than one million per month should be your first goal, and then just place links on those pages to redirect the traffic in a legal way to the other site and then just watch the checks come, after a lot of work of course. Good sites you can use are: Your own, Wordpress.com, Hi5, Myspace, Twitter, Facebook, Bebo, Youtube, Blogger, Forums, ANYTHING that has traffic has potential money on it. I say potential because the amount of money you will make depends on not on how many people you can direct to the sales page but even more on the conversions you make. You need to send targeted traffic. Nothing is more important. If you send people that like rock music to classical music sites they will leave the site with the pockets full and their faces ugly. However if you send them to sites they like (targeted traffic) you can finish the day with some nice commissions.
Some other people like to make money with surveys, clicking ads and so on. Let me tell you one thing about easy money. Those who promise you easy money, just working 4 hours a day and just set and forget it tools are lying to you. The harder the business, the more you work and the more systems you set up, the more you wil make in the end of the year, trust me on this. If I were to believe them, I would just stop working and you would never read this article.
