
A latest bug has been recently found in the major Email service providers like MSN Hotmail, Yahoo!, GMail, etc. The bug that has been found exploits a security hole in the Email service providers and is targeted mainly on inactive Email accounts. According to the Symantec, the script in the bug spreads itself into all Email accounts and checks the Sign-in activity of the Email accounts. If found inactive the bug executes the program in its script. Symantec also reports that 65% of the Email accounts have been already infected. With the effort of Symantec and other Antivirus companies, mails have been developed to make users aware of the bug and tips to prevent against an attack from the bug. About 15% of the users in US have lost their important mails as a part of the attack by this bug and haven’t so far found any methods to recover the lost Emails. The Symantec has called out for Security experts from other software companies to fight againt the bug.
