This is my small list of the top 10 websites where you can learn all about computer security. Some of these sites are video based, article based, and others are simply a collection of forum posts. Forums surprisingly are some of the best places to gain information on a topic. They give you all different views on how to solve problems and also they give a reader multi professional solutions in one place. Hopefully by reading this article you will be able to find all of the information you will need in protecting yourself on the Internet.

Note that this list is not numbered because most of them bring different types of information to the table therefore it would be nearly impossible to judge and grade them amongst each other

Iron Geek

Link -  Brings to the table a plethora of information and examples that cannot be found easily in one place. The author writes small videos on different subjects which you can watch. Also on this site are many links to other useful topics such as Nutrition and Home Security. The site hosts many Applications and scripts to help you in your quest for knowledge.

Link -  Is a bank of knowledge, examples and do it yourself projects for all kinds of skill levels. The site takes you through step by step in instructing you how to complete a project. The site has a nice look and feel to it, the site is organized such that all of the information is not bunched into one web page but spread out amongst many. This is defiantly a must see site for any kind of project you might be undergoing.

Insecure

Link -  Hosts lists of all kinds of different tools that might be useful to learn more about computer and network security. The site has a numbered list showing you the best tools to use and also it shows easily what operating systems the tools are compatible with.

SecuriTeam

Link – This site has many articles about current vulnerabilities being discovered so you can protect yourself at the moment of the finds. Also this site has many articles of current news feeds.

Government Security

Link – The Government Security site is an updated news site where you can get the latest from the tech world. Also the site contains many forum posts on all kinds of different subjects pertaining to Computer and Networking security. The site also has information about home security systems and identity theft. This site is a must see if you are striving to learn more about all types of security.

Air Crack

Link – The Air Crack site is actually a how to hack wireless Internet site but reading the articles on there you can gain allot of information on how to protect yourself from hackers. You can also learn the techniques that hackers use to gain access to your potentially weak encrypted WEP wireless network. By reading the articles on this site you will learn that WAP encryption is practically impossible to crack and that you should upgrade the type of security your wireless network is using to stay safe.

The Tor Project

Link – The tor project offers simple solutions to surfing the web anonymously. The site offers a package which bounces your IP address around the world so that your real IP is hidden and that your browser and operating system information is also hidden. The internet browser you use broadcasts all kinds of information about you and your internet experiences such as your geographical location and your latest security updates on your PC.

Link – This site is a little like the Tor Project but instead of downloading a package to your computer you can surf anonymously easily and free. All you have to do is enter your destination URL and WahLah! Your identity is safely hidden behind a web proxy.

Wikipedia

Link – Wikipedia is one of the best sites to learn just about anything, therefore it lends itself nicely to learn about security on the internet. Although you must be careful because as you probably already know, wikipedia may contain material that is not true. So use caution and always try to confirm information from at least one other credible source.

Link – Not just can you learn about internet security and flaws in common things that we use everyday such as google, but you can also learn about how to program and do other cool things with computers.
