Be careful when you shop around for web hosting. You will see things that are not real nor truth but these people seem to have lawyers that can trick the law and the user at the same time.
Be careful with this:
1. Unlimited space.
This is not true. They say they offer you unlimited space but they do not tell you much more unless you read the contract and the terms very carefully. What they do not mention in the sales page is that if you start using more space than the sites similar to you, you will be banned without warning because of abuse. I mean, you pay for unlimited space but if the other sites start to use less space, you will be considered an abuse so you lose your site and all your stuff inside it. I read a review of Yahoo that the webmaster had to replace his credit card so he missed some payments. Yahoo just deleted his account and his website and he had no copy because he would never imagine this lack of level from Yahoo. If you are thinking about using this space to store your files beware because they will do the same with you.

2. Unlimited Bandwidth.
Another fake sales trick. There is no such thing such as unlimited this or that. If your website starts to using more bandwidth than those similar to you, they will just delete your account without warning, this means that if your website is better than the other losers in the same group of servers you are, you are toasted. One interesting thing to see is that the cheaper plans such as shared hosting have more space and bandwidth than the VPS or the Dedicated server… it’s so nice to see how people can be tricked specially when you are a beginner in these matters.
3. Ultra Fast Servers
They promise you Intel Xeons and this and that plus all the best connections in the world. What they never mention is that your computer will be shared with hundreds, maybe thousands or even millions of other sites. A single CPU can be managing several TB of data which means your website gets a very bad response time and speed. If you want to check your hosting company there are some services that can automatically check your domain and send you an email when things are wrong. Do use them. Your website in a shared server will be slower than a computer from the 80s. If they tell you will have a 4 GHz Xeon and they share that server with just 100 sites, this means you will get just 40 Mhz, this is less than the average computer in 1985. They also tell you cannot use more than 10% of the system resources. Why do not they tell you all this in the sales page? You think you are getting a 3 GHZ or 3.6 GHZ processor when in reality you are getting ten times less than that?!
4. Best costumer support in the world.
My experience with Godaddy is that they do not give a #$%& about you. They will only send you a general response such as “do this, do that, read your Knowledge support” even if your problem is an error in the server, they just do not care and they always take more than 24 hours to reply.
If you are thinking about getting some decent web hosting please read some decent review websites and read the tiny letters they write below the sales page. You do not want to sign a contract for 3 years and pay thousands of dollars for something you thought you were getting…
